Schwarzman Scholars

A one-year, fully-funded master’s program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, designed to build a global community of future leaders who will serve to deepen understanding between China and the rest of the world.

    Career Development Spotlight: Why China?

Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 9:00 AM until 10:00 AMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

In this webinar, we spotlight alumni with no prior academic or work connections to China, who felt compelled to discover China’s connection to their leadership trajectory. They came to Schwarzman Scholars with curiosity and an open mind to learn more about China and its growing global impact. At its founding, Schwarzman Scholars was intended and designed for young leaders who had no prior China experience or Mandarin study. While the program now includes Scholars with varying China expertise, this webinar will feature narratives where Scholars explored an unfamiliar culture, challenging their existing knowledge and developing new perspective. These Scholars recognized a significant gap in their résumés and were energized to embark on this journey to immerse themselves and learn about China using first-hand experiences. Learn more about how they constructed their “Why China?” narrative and how Schwarzman Scholars influenced their approach post-graduation. Julia Zupko, Director of Career Development, and Christian Tanja, Admissions Outreach and Selection Officer, will co-moderate the session.

Schwarzman Scholars is a fully-funded scholarship program for the next generation of young leaders, anchored in a 10-month Master’s Degree in Global Affairs at Beijing’s Tsinghua University. More information is available on www.schwarzmanscholars.org.
